You shouldn't mess with it at all. Since you don't know what matrix was used to make the wheel ANY type of solvent strong enough to remove the paint migt destroy the wheel.

Do not use chemical paint removers as they can attack the clear coat on the carbon fiber and could attack the carbon fiber resin itself.





Try some orange peel solvent, but not the orange paint stripper (unless it says plastic safe on the label). I don't believe you should use anything stronger. If it was an aerosol spray paint it may just remove it all. If it was better paint -- forget it.
