How much spray paint should i buy if i want to start to learn how to graffiti?

Let it spray! There is no clear answer as to how much, however, every artist wants to feel free to express their work as desired. Therefore, I would suggest not only including the primary colors, but also the more bold colors such as : orange, purple, hot pink, lime green. flourescent yellow. Also do NOT be afraid to use black! Throw out rules! They are only to be broken anyways. ';there are no rules in art';. :) The black is often used in graffiti to outline and accentuate. The beauty of graffiti lies, in my opinion, in it's purist form. What I mean is, do not try to capture realism, but rather paint as you feel and as you see the ';vision'; in your mind. Sometimes graffiti is considered outsider art, BUT do not let that arbitrary description influence you. Art is art! Good luck in your work. Be bold, be creative, courageous and most of all have fun! Oh, and feel free to use the least expensive paint, such as Walmart cans, that I think can be bought as low as 99 cents.


Life is short, art is long. :) Oh and ONE more thing....as a mom, I must also caution that when using spray paints, especially in a more enclosed area, you should wear a mask and try to ventilate. i write and i usually go threw like 1 can wen i do a fill then i use a little bit of my outline can that includes a shadow if u have a 6 letter name i would suggest gettin 4 fill in colors(the same color) to make the fill in look good and 2 outline colors and another color to double outline

Graffiti is not very pleasant on the eye.





Please don't buy ANY spray paint as it means that someone, who cares about the way the city you live in looks, will have to clean up your mess. Try something like watercolours or just normal acrylics and paint on a piece of paper or a canvas. Rather be constructively creative.





Leave the walls alone!






it depends if you already know what you're going to draw..if you do pick out the best colors but get only a few.. if you dont know what you are going to draw then i suggest you get big cans so if you start getting ideas you can do it again one black and any other two or three colors of your choice
First buy your wall.





Graffiti is UGLY and offensive and I'm sure you would not appreciate someone's inane scribbles on the side of your home
