How do I spray paint a plastic wall hanging? Do I put it inside a box or on newspaper?

I wouldn't like the gold metallic paint get on anything else. Since I have never done it before, I would really appreciate some tipsHow do I spray paint a plastic wall hanging? Do I put it inside a box or on newspaper?
OUTSIDE, if you live in a neighborhood, take it to the street and place it on newspaper pull the paper to the grass and allow to dry for about an hour then repeat. try newspaper...lots of it...and its always better to spray paint outside.....the fumes will get to u....unless ur into that stuff...lol
hi you should put it in a good sized box do it outside if possible as you probably will get a small deposit of the paint on surrounding areas if you have to do it inside make sure the area is well ventilated for the fumes also make sure you spray evenly light coats not to close follow the instructions on the can you may have to do it twice make sure the first coat is dry before you apply the second hope this helps good luck sue
