How do I get spray paint off an outside wall?

I recently moved in to a house where the previous occupiers had spray painted the house number on to the side of the wall.

It is too big to cover with a pretty number plate. It is yellow paint, I have no idea how long it has been there, all I know is that they lived here for around 8 years. How do I go about removing it without damaging the brickwork? How do I get spray paint off an outside wall?
DE SOLV IT GRAFFITI REMOVER - When some little toe rag graffitied over mine and my neighbours wall (with permanent marker pen) we managed to remove it with this. It's available in most of the large DIY shops ie B%26amp;Q etc. You can buy it in liquid form or in a tub of wipes. How do I get spray paint off an outside wall?
paint over it. it may look horrible but you dont want everyone to know your number
You need 3 cans of detergent, 3 teenagers, and 3 hooded tops.
hire a hot water steam cleaner----hss hire shop
If it's recently sprayed, lacquer thinner might work but test a small spot on the decal areas.
Begin licking the wall vigorously. Repeat 10,000 times.
scrub it off =]

or go council for some chemicals to get it off

haha gd luck

and enjoy ur house

go to a builders merchant and they will give you the proper solution to do it
Rent a power washer from the local Home Depot or Lowes and it will blast it right off.
Rent a power washer.
theres some stuff we used when i was working at a diesel shop to take grafitti off of trucks and occasionally off of the shop walls it was called ';Big Orange'; made by ZEP

otherwise you may try some regular dish soap and a wire brush, it may require a bit of elbow grease but the liquid detergent should take it out
Ask your local council, they have specialist chemicals for graffitti removal.
wash it off with a pressure washer no chemicals needed
You could try a wire brush.Or if you have a sander, you could try that.

I've found this site that sells cleaning stuff, so might be worth a try:
