I have a pair of light colored hollister jeans that have spots of black spray paint on the legs, please give me some ideas! How do you get black spray paint out of light colored jeans?
1. Spray dried paint with hair spray (does not necessarily need to be hairspray - the ingredient in the spray is Isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol) - the cheap stuff works as well as expensive brands.
2. Rub the dried paint with another rag - or just use your fingernail.
3. Rub and spray until the paint liquefies or starts to loosen up. Just don't rub hard enough - like on shirts - to put a hole in the fabric.
4. Do laundry as usual. If the paint isn't totally gone, (mine usually is) don't put in the dryer. Line dry and use hair spray again.
Another method is to use rubbing alcohol directly on paint or diluted. This works even on set in stains, but may remove some of the fabric's color if scrubbed too hard.
Warnings
Do this soon after getting paint on clothes. If you leave it sitting on for awhile, this method may not work.
Hope this helps you ~~
Good Luck~~How do you get black spray paint out of light colored jeans?
I don't think you are going to get them out. Why don't you rip the knees and make them look like very expensive jeans.
Make shorts!
that isn't coming out...
It probally wont come out. But you can try this
soak the pants in water, plain water. Then put it in the washer with oxi clean and some shout.
It might not work because thats spray paint and black....
Paint thinner's about the only thing that will work. Nail polish remover (the acetone kind), which is a form of paint remover itself, might work, but paint thinner's the best route.
But if you've washed and dried them already, give it up.
If you can't get it out, put on MORE paint, like a graffiti look or something. Try to make it look intentional.
its not just dye em black
