Can I spray paint a candle? I need cheap silver votive candles for our wedding centerpieces.?

I found gold silver spray paint for candles online, but not silver. Can I use normal spray paint?Can I spray paint a candle? I need cheap silver votive candles for our wedding centerpieces.?
Spray paint may not be your best solution. It can work okay, but if you get any overspray on the top of the votive, or on the wick, it's going to crackle and smoke. I've been making candles for about 8 years now, so trust me when I tell you that you have to take care with decorations! I found this website for you, though - http://www.walltowallstencils.com/paints鈥?/a> - and here's some information that might help:

';Paint products specifically made for painting on candles and soap are now available. Candle and Soap Paints can be purchased for painting directly onto candles and soaps. If you already own a ton of acrylic paints and don't want to invest in more paints, you can simple buy one bottle of candle and soap painting medium (both Delta and DecoArt manufacture this product). Simply mix equal parts of the candle and soap medium with acrylic paint and then stencil.';

They sell metallic acrylic paints at any local craft store, and even at places like Wal-mart. A little goes a long way, especially on small candles like votives. Hope that helps!Good luck!Can I spray paint a candle? I need cheap silver votive candles for our wedding centerpieces.?
They're saying that spray paint is flammable...but candles are flammable!

Why don't you get one candle and try it at home, outside? Put it on a clean cement (or other non-flammable surface) slab and light it. If it bursts into uncontrollable flames, have something nearby to douse it. If not, let it burn for a while, keeping an eye on it. If nothing happens, it should be safe for your wedding.

The main problem I could see arising is that the paint might bubble up and not look very pretty.
hi,

yes, you can use spray paint but chose high quality. You can also you metallic tape but make sure that both will adhere to the wax surface. You do not want a thick layer of paint so do test trials and take your time.
I would guess No since paint is flammable, unless you're not planning to burn them at all. I would think you might start a fire. ???
I wouldn't try it. The paint you found online must be something special for candles. Regular spray paint is flammable. You don't want to burn down the facility!
